French Healthcare Association is delighted to announce the arrival of its new Executive Director, Emile Jockey.
With solid experience in the development and support of healthcare industries and establishments within the French Ministry of Economy, Finances and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty as well as Europe and Foreign Affairs Ministry, Emile Jockey officially took up his post as French Healthcare Association’s new Executive Director on September 2, 2024.
Its expertise and in-depth knowledge of the challenges faced by our healthcare companies and establishments, both in France and abroad, will be put to good use in associating and promoting the French healthcare exporting ecosystem.
Emile Jockey succeeds Johanna Lerfel, the new Regional Advisor on Global Health for the Middle East at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. The entire association congratulates and thanks Johanna Lerfel for her remarkable role within the association, promoting France’s excellence in healthcare.

I would also like to pay tribute to the tremendous work accomplished by my predecessor Johanna Lerfel.

Now at the core of the French healthcare export support system, the association is entering a new phase in its development. My mission is to support it by implementing a new roadmap, setting out new priorities designed to make its action ever more effective, while retaining the agility that is its strength. Under French Healthcare’s baneer, I will be working to create new, sustainable business flows between the French healthcare offering and our international partners, as close as possible to their needs.
The aim is also to continue to provide a high level of service to all members of the French Healthcare community, and to seek even greater synergies with our various partners in France – in particular Business France, the Mouvement des Entreprises de France International, the CCI France and Les Conseillers du Commerce extérieur de la France – and abroad. All this, of course, while preserving our close links with government departments, and in particular those of the Quai d’Orsay, the French Treasury and the Ministry of Health.”
A career dedicated to supporting the French healthcare ecosystem
After a first experience in charge of economic regulation and safety of medical devices at the General Direction of Concurrency, Consumption and Fraud repression (2016-2019), Emile Jockey was in charge of support to the healthcare industries and international healthcare supply sectors, within the Direction of the Economic Diplomacy within the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (2019-2023).
From January 2023, until August 2024, he was the health coordinator for the General Direction of Companies, within the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty. His responsibilities there included overseeing healthcare product pricing activities, major healthcare industrial investment projects throughout France, and healthcare product financing, through monitoring the drafting of social security financing bills and supporting innovation as part of the France 2030 national strategy.

French Healthcare is an initiative driven by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs from 2017, in conjunction with the ministries in charge of the economy, health and social affairs.
The 1901-law association at the heart of this innovative public-private initiative federates French companies, healthcare establishments, research and training institutes that wish to play an active part in a collective dynamic and promote, together, their international activities.
