IMeBIO wins international tender to deliver mobile biosafety laboratory to the Sultanate of Oman

IMeBIO, expert in mobile and modular controlled environments, will shortly be delivering a level 2 biosafety laboratory to the Sultanate of Oman.

IMeBIO is renowned for its design of level P2 and P3 mobile microbiological safety laboratories. These laboratories are used to study and analyse pathogens linked to health, pandemic or bioterrorist risks.

With more than two decades’ experience in the field, the French Healthcare Association member company has already installed more than 50 P2, P3 and GMP laboratories around the world. The company is also piloting other types of project, adapted to different international markets, such as drone piloting systems for the navy, agri-food micro-factories for field processing, and 3D printing of medical devices.

The new project to design, manufacture and deliver a biosafety laboratory in Oman demonstrates IMeBIO‘s ability to provide solutions tailored to the specific needs of a multitude of markets. The company is also reaffirming its ongoing commitment to improving global diagnostic capabilities through its modular solutions, as in Tajikistan and Corsica.

A laboratory exported to the Sultanate of Oman to boost research in the country

This latest-generation containerised laboratory will be installed at the Ministry of Health’s central public health laboratories in Muscat, Oman, to enhance their research and development capabilities.

The Omani market for research and diagnostic laboratories is booming, with growing demand for flexible facilities. Researchers are particularly keen to expand their knowledge of poliomyelitis, a persistent health issue in certain regions of the world.

IMeBIO has announced that the laboratory will be fully equipped with cutting-edge tools and technologies, including a biosafety cabinet, autoclave, freezers and refrigerators, a pass-through, a microscope and a centrifuge. This equipment will enable the teams on site to prepare their R&D activities as effectively as possible.
