Foundation for Innovation in Cardiometabolism and Nutrition
The Foundation for Innovation in Cardiometabolism and Nutrition (IHU ICAN) is a translational research center of excellence in cardiometabolic diseases: diabetes, obesity, liver diseases (NASH), heart and vessel diseases. Located at the heart of the Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital, ICAN relies on the expertise of its founders: AP-HP, INSERM and Sorbonne University to carry out its mission. ICAN brings together teams of basic and clinical researchers and has structured cutting-edge platforms for translational research, particularly for imaging cardiometabolic tissues, as well as for the integration of clinical and multi-omics data. Our mission is to accelerate the translation of preclinical and clinical research results directly into patient care.
Clinical Research Platform
ICAN Clinical Investigation - Cardiometabolic diseases
Composed of a clinical platform and a mobile clinical research team, ICAN Clinical Investigation supports sponsors at all sta ges of their projects.
ICAN BioCollection - Biobanking
The Biobank of the IHU-ICAN, certified ISO-9001, takes care of the biocollections (fluids, biopsies and cells) of the IHU and its partners.
ICAN BioCell Human Liver biology
ICAN BioCell Human Liver Biology provides primary human liver cells and offers services on liver models in 2D or 3D primary culture.
ICAN Biocell iPS
Reprogramming of adult cells into induced pluripotent stem cells and their differentiation into different cell models.
Omics et data sciences
ICAN Omics Lipidomics
ICAN Omics lipidomics identifies and quantifies new lipid biomarkers in cardiometabolism and nutrition.
ICAN Omics metabolomics
Profile and quantify in high throughput the molecules belonging to the metabolome for mechanistic purposes or to search for new biomarkers.
ICAN I/O Data Sciences
ICAN I/O is a platform of expertise focused on the analysis and integration of multi-omics and clinical data.
